July 4 Town Celebration & Historic Tours

Nearly 300 people cross the street to tour the PCM sanctuary and graveyard after the Revolutionary Times celebration on the Green sponsored by Morris County Tourism on July 4th. Slideshow below by Bruce Frazier.

July 4   On the Green   11am - 1pm

As part of Morristown's Revolutionary Times  celebration on the Morristown Green, march with the Revolutionary War soldiers, attend the Reading of the Declaration of Independence accompanied by appearances by historic figures and view the musket salute. If raining, this program will be held in the sanctuary of The Presbyterian Church in Morristown. Sponsored by Morris Tourism and Morristown National Historical Park, Revolutionary Times also includes music, the tolling of church bells, refreshments and activities.

Continue the celebration across the street with historic church and graveyard tours offered by PCM. Learn about the place in Morristown's history of this church and graveyard founded in 1733 - the symbolism of the architecture, artifacts and stained glass windows and Who's Who in the graveyard, including veterans from the Revolutionary war. Guides provide an overview, answer questions and offer hand-outs for a self-guided tour inside (accompanied by organ music from the magnificent Austin 50-rank organ).
