Volunteer: Homeless Connect Event

St. Peter’s Episcopal Church is hosting Homeless Connect on January 31, an outreach event to the Morris County unhoused population on the statewide “countday”. It is sponsored by Mental Health Association of Essex & Morris, Inc. They are seeking volunteers to help the day of and the day before. Duties will include directing people, serving food, helping with the giveaways, etc.

The event is Friday, January 31 from 9:00 am to 2:00 pm at St. Peter’s (70 Maple Ave, Morristown, NJ 07960).

Help is also needed sorting all donations the day before, Thursday, January 30 from 2:00 – 7:00 pm at St. Peters.

There are about 40 agencies in attendance as well as food and giveaways (coats, shoes, etc). They are also in need of backpacks, gift cards and shoe/boot, hats/gloves donations (to be dropped off at St. Peter’s on Jan 30).

Lastly, if you are or know of any haircutters who might donate an hour or too, they are hoping to have haircuts available.
