Presbyterian Disaster Assistance – Hawaiian Wildfires

The stunning scenes of devastation in Hawaii leave us all shocked by how quickly a beautiful corner of the world turned into smoking ruins. Six fires continue to devastate two of the Hawaiian islands, Maui and The Big Island of Hawaii, and as of this writing, at least 100 people have been confirmed dead, with more deaths anticipated. Many homes, as well as essential services, have been destroyed.

Presbyterian Disaster Assistance (PDA) and the Presbytery of the Pacific are already mobilizing for long-term help for the survivors and the hard-working emergency response teams on both Maui and Hawaii. The best way to help from afar is to financially support trusted organizations, like PDA, who have the local contacts and the skills to provide the most help where it’s most needed.

God, there are no words to convey our grief and sorrow at this destruction of your beautiful world. Help us have compassion and help us use your gifts as a way of offering back your love for us to others, far away in miles but close to us in our continued prayers.

– A Prayer for Hawaii

To support the PDA response, gifts can be designated to DR000165.  If paying by credit card or bank account, please write in the “Comments” section at the bottom of the page “for Maui wildfires”.  If paying by check, please note on the memo line:  DR10065 – Maui Wildfires.
