It’s been 41 years since a group of wise and forward-thinking church members came together to form the Mutch Society. Little did they then know how important its creation would become to the life of PCM.
The Mutch Society derives its name from Dr. Thomas Mutch who was the Senior Pastor of PCM from 1936 to 1966. Very simply, you become a member of the Mutch Society when you remember the church in your estate planning and designate a specific amount or a percentage of your estate to PCM. Gifts from Mutch Society members go into the endowment fund, which in addition to member pledges, has been the main source of church funding for many years. Without the generosity of past Mutch Society members, church operations, building maintenance, and programs such as outreach would have been significantly impacted.
While the church has been the beneficiary of a number of significant gifts, not all gifts are large. Here’s what long time member, Barbara King, wrote when she became a member of the Mutch Society:
