“Jesus said, “ I was hungry and you gave me food. I was thirsty and you gave me something to drink…” Matthew 25:35
Every time we set a table
where all who are hungry can eat;
every time we welcome neighbors and we add an extra seat;
and every time we live as servants, free to wash each other’s feet,
In our living, in our giving, we are there.
The three programs supported by One Great Hour of Sharing (OGHS) — Presbyterian Disaster Assistance, the Presbyterian Hunger Program, and Self-Development of People — all work in different ways to serve individuals and communities in need. From initial disaster response to ongoing community development, their work fits together to provide people with safety, sustenance, and hope. As we follow Jesus’ example, walking alongside the most vulnerable to partner in repairing the harm inflicted upon them, we celebrate that we are the Church … together.
We are there with the Society for National Integration through Rural Development Resource Center in India, helping thousands recover from the effects of tsunamis, flooding and the Covid pandemic.
We are there with the Coalition of Immokalee Workers, helping those laboring under oppressive conditions in the tomato fields of Florida.
We are there with the Women’s Meeting Space in Panama, helping women to learn to grow their own food and overcome challenges made worse by poverty and the pandemic.
Join with Presbyterians worldwide in sharing God’s love with our neighbors-in-need around the world by providing relief from natural disasters, food for the hungry, and support for the poor and oppressed. When you give to One Great Hour of Sharing, your gifts join with others and the effects multiply exponentially.
This Lenten season, please give generously to One Great Hour of Sharing.
