Nursery School

The Presbyterian Church Nursery School has served children and families in the Morristown area since 1964. We continue to provide a nurturing and stimulating atmosphere for young children and their families today.

Children have an opportunity for emotional, physical, intellectual, social and spiritual development in a Christian environment. We offer parents a safe and nurturing space for their children to grow and learn. Our classrooms are warm, bright and inviting.

Our Programs

children ages 2.5 to 5 years

2.5-year-olds come for a few hours two days a week to start their journey in preschool. We help children learn to separate from caregivers, develop a positive self-concept, gain early socialization skills, and follow a simple routine. Staying for lunch is an option when children are ready.

3–4-year-olds come for three four-hour days, experience a slightly more structured schedule, and have lunch at school. Children learn through play and centers around the classroom that enhance fine motor, cognitive, social-emotional, and gross motor skills.

Pre-K (ages 4 and 5) children enjoy a full five-day week of four-hour classes. They are prepared well for kindergarten by expanding their social emotional skills and personal responsibility. Cognitive areas of development (letters, numbers, counting, etc.) are presented in an engaging curriculum to encourage curiosity and enthusiasm for learning.

Dance and movement

Mondays at 1:00 PM

New this year, Miss Megan teaches dance to a group of 3-year-olds and Pre-K students. Dance is a wonderful way for young children to develop strength, coordination, and rhythm. Children also learn to follow directions.

Pre-K: Tuesdays at 1:00 pm

An after-school enrichment program presented by Wee Little Arts for Pre-K students. Our young artists develop fine motor skills, self-expression, self-confidence, and focus.

Garden Club

Wednesdays at 1:00 PM

An after-school enrichment, sponsored by Morristown’s Grow It Green. Farmer Jenna meets with 3- and 4-year-old students and teaches science and nutrition lessons by planting and eating vegetables grown in our raised bed garden here at school. Young children always enjoy learning with exposure to nature. Farmer Jenna makes it fun!

Sports and Games

thursdays at 1:00 pm

An after-school enrichment class that helps our Pre-K children learn teamwork and through fun and exciting gym games. Our very own Miss Carol has a blast teaching these children to enjoy physical exercise and develop essential listening skills.

Fridays at 1:00 PM

An after-school enrichment, Little Hearts Yoga for 3’s and Pre-K students is a wonderful program that helps children gain coordination, strength, self-esteem, focus, and self-control. Children learn various poses and techniques to help build healthy minds and bodies.
