Freedom Day: Juneteenth Festival of Morris County

June 17, 2023, Noon – 5:00 pm

PCM Chapel, The Green, and Pioneer Plaza, Morristown, NJ

The Juneteenth Festival of Morris County is a lively event created for all families to celebrate the resilience, solidarity, history, and culture of the Black community.

Join in Juneteenth Conversations at the PCM Chapel to hear from two speakers and a panel of physicians as they highlight the meaning of Juneteenth, how African Americans can advocate for themselves in a patient encounter, and how people of African descent celebrate individual humanity and communal life.

The festival will also include live performances by The Kofi and Sankofa Drum & Dance Ensemble, local artists, a DJ, food, community resource tables, and a tribute to famed abolitionist Frederick Douglass, who made a historic visit to Morristown, NJ in 1865.
