October Bible Study | Beloved and Blessed: LGBTQ Belonging in the Bible

Join us on Wednesday throughout the month of October at 5:00 pm in the Parish House for a five-week journey exploring affirming interpretations of Scripture and LGBTQ+ belonging in the biblical story. We’ll read with fresh eyes and celebrate the sacred worth of every body and identity. Each week features rich conversation, theological reflection, and a deep dive into a biblical text through a queer lens. All are welcome.

Oct 1 – Reading with New Eyes
Acts 8:26–40 (Philip and the Ethiopian eunuch)
Introducing queer biblical hermeneutics.

Oct 8 – Chosen Family & Sacred Kinship
Ruth 1:16–17, Luke 8:1–3
Exploring chosen family, mutuality, and deep friendships through a queer lens.

Oct 15 – Gender Nonconformity in the Bible
Genesis 1:26–27, Matthew 19:12
Examining gender diversity in creation, eunuchs, and nonbinary expressions.

Oct 22 – A Fully Affirming Gospel
Galatians 3:28
Embracing radical inclusion in the body of Christ—affirming all identities and bodies.

Oct 29 – Queer Saints and Sacred Stories
John 11:1–44
Lifting up LGBTQ+ stories and saints; Jesus’ love for all who feel on the margins.

Reminder: Summer Worship at the Parish House

Please note that beginning June 28 through September 6, our 10:00 am worship service will move to the Parish House (65 South Street). Our 8:00 am service will be on hiatus for the summertime.
On July 5, we will be worshiping at Morristown United Methodist Church at 10:30 am.
