Moses Sees God’s Glory
Patty Scaduto | Reading: Exodus 33:12-23
As I consider what has changed my faith, several thoughts come to mind.
I was raised, along with my four siblings, in a Catholic household. My parents were very devoted Catholics and were determined that all five of us children have a Catholic education. There was much sacrifice on their part so that we could not only attend Catholic schools, but also become faithful followers of the church.
During those years, I had no reason to doubt the age-old teachings and rituals of the Catholic church.
As I grew older, I became disillusioned with aspects of my faith. It was during my career as a physician that I had the privilege of meeting many wonderful patients and fellow healthcare workers. Two of those extraordinary people are my good friend Pat and my loving husband, Phil.
Pat guided me toward a loving God by introducing to me various teachings of well- known theologians. Through those readings, I have come to realize that God is love and God is hope.
Phil, having traveled a similar religious journey, encouraged me to join PCM, knowing that the PCM community has the road map I need to continue my faith journey. PCM’s inclusive environment, community outreach, and emphasis on peace and justice are the guide posts that I need at this time in my life to live my faith.
And so the journey continues.
