God’s Nearness and Knowledge
Brittany Brown | Reading: Psalm 139:1-18
I got invited.
At age 13, I was invited to join my church’s youth group, which gave me a sense of community. I started attending, and as the weeks went on, I found myself connecting with God in ways I hadn’t before. With time, my relationship with God grew stronger, all because of that one invitation.
But life shifted. College came, and the relationship I’d built with God started to feel strained. My faith community diminished. Over the course of ten years, my connection with God never fully disappeared, but it did weaken greatly.
Then, a few years ago, things started happening that made me feel like God was calling me back. It was a series of small signs until one day, I was sitting in a nail salon when a woman struck up a conversation. One thing led to another, and before I knew it, she invited me to church.
Another invitation.
Looking back, these invitations have been pivotal in my faith journey. Embracing the invitations and His open door, my relationship with Him is stronger than ever, and I found a supportive community again. This journey has been freeing, and it’s one I’m so grateful to be on.
