On April 12, the Vision Team delivered an Executive Report to the congregation titled, Rooted. Reaching. Rising. As Christ Leads Us… It laid out a bold vision that the Session had approved that will prepare PCM to thrive into our 4th century serving Christ in our community.
Since then, this multifaceted and far reaching vision has moved into a phase we are calling Vision Realization. As the broad mission lays it out, there are 12 different interlocking initiatives that we are setting out to accomplish. This realization plan will take time, and committed people to lead the charge.
We are excited to report that a Vision Realization Leadership Team has been formed. We express our thanks to the very thoughtful and dedicated leaders stepping up to chair each of the initiatives. Beyond the leaders, many other interested members have volunteered to support the work. The Leadership Team met last week and began to envision our pathway forward.
A few key takeaways became clear from that kickoff meeting:
- There is a considerable amount of work that will require thoughtful and deliberate planning and consideration.
- We are commencing a first phase of the Realization process to think expansively about all the alternatives and best ways to achieve the Visions’ objectives.
- The Leadership Team is committed to running a transparent and inclusive process.
- We are committed to open and regular communications to report on our progress.
- We need additional skills and volunteers to still join the effort.
The leadership of the initiatives, as defined in the Motions that Session has approved, are listed below. You can visit the Vision Realization Hub to submit any questions and download the Vision Report to review the Motions. We all welcome your inputs and ask for your prayers and support as we kick off this plan to bring PCM into our fourth century of service.
